Fun With Marbles and Paint

For this project, you will need paint (any colors), glitter, a marble, a piece of construction paper, and a cookie sheet with sides. If the construction paper overlaps the cookie sheet, trim it down to size. You don't want a trail of green paint rolling on your floors. Trust me.

Dip the marble in the paint (or you can use multiple marbles), and roll it (them) around the cookie sheet. They should make fun little tracks on the paper.

Once the paper looks pretty (or your toddler has decided to turn it into a fingerpaint masterpiece instead), sprinkle glitter all over the wet paint. This is the fun part. For them. Not for me. Cleaning glitter out of grout does not make me happy. But, it makes them happy. And, that makes me happy.

Had somebody not decided to use the paint as fingerpaint, the resulting masterpiece would have looked something like this. Sparkly and abstract.

But, since this is art, we want to have fun. Even if the marble got thrown on the floor, and hands were used in it's stead, as long as we didn't lose our sanity had fun, it was a successful project.

  2. This is one of our go-to's. It's fun, quick, and easy, and keeps even the youngest toddler entertained since there aren't many steps. Have fun!
