Fireworks Art Project

With 4th of July this coming week, we wanted to do a festive art project. So, we made Fireworks! This was a lot of fun...it was one of my favorite projects we've done in a while. Here's what you'll need for this project:
  • White Coffee Filters
  • Paint, diluted with water for a runny consistency
  • Eye dropper
  • Piece of Black Construction Paper
  • Glitter (optional)
Dilute some paint with water, so it's runny.

Take the coffee filter and fold it in half.

Then fold it in half again.

Finally again.

Dip all the sides of the coffee filter into the paint.

Use an eye dropper to drop more paint in the middle of the coffee filter.

Open it up, and admire the pretty colors.

Repeat the process. Glue your fireworks onto black construction paper, and finish with a little glitter (if desired). Enjoy!

(Thanks for the idea, Artists Helping Children)
